Origin:
In order to make your preferred sound quality happen, Kuhn & XXXX do not obey any limitations.
Selected local as well as exotic woods which will be only derived from organic farming deliver the base for your customized product.
Hardness:
It does not matter if a piece of wood is light or dark. It is the hardness and the stucture which influence the shell’s sound character. A soft and large-pored wood, for example, will probably meet the expectations of a customer who adores the vintage sounds of the Fifties.

Bearing Edge:
After defining the structure and hardness of the wood, the bearing edge of the shell is one of the most important parts to create the sound that fits the drum. The positioning and angle have to be defined and the percentage of the drumhead that will touch the bearing edge is chosen to form the right sound. All Kuhn & XXXX bearing edges are made by high-grade tools and are finished to perfection by artisan craftsmanship.
Shell Thickness:
The thickness of the shell defines the volume, the sustain and the responsiveness of the drum. |
Kuhn & XXXX create instruments which suit perfectly its owner without losing the typical Kuhn & XXXX character. The woods we use are all certified, so we will not harm our environment and you can enjoy your instrument with good conscience.
